I enjoy taking care of my wonderful clients starting with their first contact to the last print ordered. When it comes to photography, I am a perfectionist and go to great lengths to make sure that the final products are a masterpiece on the highest quality products. Â
Custom ordering appointments provide an opportunity to utilize my trained eye and professional judgment to create exquisite wall art and chic products that perfectly match your style.Â
Appointments are usually done at a client's home where I show beautiful, fine art products. This provides a tangible and valuable experience to help clients visualize what their most treasured images will look like on their walls.Â
After the location is decided, the next step is to choose outfits which are appropriate for the site, weather, and time of day. Have fun mixing and matching complementary colors, textures, and solids with soft patterns. Stick with clothing that is timeless instead of trendy.Â
For parents, the one thing to keep in mind is to choose clothing that fits well and makes you feel confident. Since moms are usually doing the planning, I recommend starting with her outfit and building the rest of the family’s ensemble around hers. If mom is happy everyone is happy!
I have spent years collection props for newborn and baby sessions which includes:
My storytelling images are a signature style that I refined over 20 years — a hybrid of portraiture and photojournalism. Peruse my portfolio and you will find images that are modern, fun, timeless, energetic, but most of all happy!Â
I love creating beautiful portraits which are included in each session, but what really excites me are the funny, authentic, and spontaneous moments that happen in-between the posed shots.Â
If you love creative and intentional photos of your family captured as they are, then you have come to the right place. What makes my style unique is that I offer candid, posed, and artistic photos all rolled into one session.Â

The first spark of interest in photography started, oddly enough, with flamingos. When I was seventeen I watched a PBS special which showed a photographer filming hundreds of these exotic birds from a helicopter as they flew away. I remember thinking that being a photographer was the best job on the planet. A few years later I graduated from SFSU with a degree in Photojournalism and became a professional. When my first child was born, I decided to open my own photo studio and have never looked back! The first decade I was primarily a B&W film photographer. This experience provided an excellent foundation for "shooting with intention," which means to create an image before pressing the shutter. After switching to digital, I became passionate about colors and the unharnessed creativity that comes with shooting without the constraints of film. With hard work and dedication I have built my business from the ground up. It has provided me with the ability to explore new areas of my craft, to grow as a person, and a platform to work with thousands of clients who appreciate my fun, modern, and timeless style of photography. I love my job and clients can feel it!

I am honored to reach a global audience with my photography.
Bay Area Parent asked me to write an article HERE for their 2021 magazine after winning first place in the 'Best of the Best' contest.Â
When selecting a photographer, first consider if they are a good fit stylistically. Do you prefer posed or candid, fun or moody, traditional or artistic? Start by asking for recommendations from friends, family, and colleagues. Look through websites until you find a photographer’s style that resonates with you. If you love what you see, there is a very good likelihood that you will love the images that they create for you.Â
Children have short attention spans and can be happy one minute, sad the next, and then laughing again. For this reason, I recommend going with a photographer who specializes in photographing families. Their years of experience, patience, and deep pocket of tricks to keep your children engaged will be well worth it.
Budget is another consideration, so it is good to inquire beforehand about pricing and packages. If you would like to get a feel for the photographer, a phone call is best and often more efficient in getting your questions answered quickly. Once the date is booked with a deposit, the creative part of envisioning what your portrait session will look like begins.
After the location is decided, the next step is to choose outfits which are appropriate for the site, weather, and time of day. If your session is in a field then boots and jeans may be appropriate, whereas a session in a studio could be dressier. Have fun mixing and matching complementary colors, textures, and solids with soft patterns. Stick with clothing that is timeless instead of trendy. For parents, the one thing to keep in mind is to choose clothing that makes you feel confident. Since moms are usually doing the planning, I recommend starting with her outfit and building the rest of the family’s ensemble around hers. If mom is happy everyone is happy!
Tell your children how fun the photo session is going to be, and that these photos will be on your walls that they can look at for years. It is totally fine to include a fun activity or reward afterwards to get them excited! Well-rested children with full tummies are a great way to get the portrait session off on the right foot. Bring water and healthy snacks that do not create crumbs and juice stains – my favorites are cheese sticks and grapes. Be mindful to not overload your kids with too much stimulation such as sports, playdates, and birthday parties to help ensure that they are energetic for their session. And feel free to bring a small toy, stuffed animal, prop, and blanket to personalize your photos.
The best portrait sessions are those where the children are free to be themselves. My goal is to create an atmosphere of fun for children to play and act their age. When parents are less concerned with their children sitting still in front of the camera, the images tend to be more authentic and memorable. Finally, plan on getting close, with lots of hugging and laughing. Your portrait session should look like a fun day out with your favorite people on the planet!
